Blackbird has the most amazing pastries, breads, and treats! The croissants are my personal favorite, and they have many delicious flavors. They bake everything in the shop and it smells delightful. The coffee isn't super special in my opinion but it is good and worth trying out. They offer oat, soy, and almond milks for the coffee, which I appreciate.
The bakery is located on the border of Lakewood and Rocky River, and is really cute building. The atmosphere inside is great. Friendly staff, plenty of seating, and a cute high top counter with barstool seating along the window.
I will keep on returning to Blackbird Bakery and I 100% recommend others try it out too! -

Stopped inside for an afternoon caffeine fix, and I was very impressed with the cold brew and chocolate sea salt cookie I had chosen. There was a good selection of bakery and coffee options.
As a student, I'm a big fan of studying in coffee shops. I would definitely come back in the near future to work on assignments or dive into a new book here. The atmosphere was very cozy and accommodating for a morning or afternoon hang out. -

I'll be honest. I've been to Blackbird many times, and I've only had the chocolate chip cookies. I'm positive that the rest of their pasties and breads are delicious (and if I'm judging by looks alone then I KNOW they are) but I am v loyal to their chocolate chip cookies.
Blackbird is a small, local bakery between Lakewood and Rocky River. Their selection isn't huge but it's always busy and they almost always sell out of the good stuff early. I've also heard they have a cookie happy hour and I'm here for that. -

This place is amazing! Lattes are amazing and drip coffee is great as well. I love that they serve actual pastries and have REAL, fresh loaves of bread. They can slice it for you too if you like. I had the raspberry jammer. So delicious. It was the perfect combination of a little sweet and savory. My husband had an apple cinnamon scone. It's a must go to for my fellow bread lovers.

Absolutely delicious!!!
I had last Monday (5 November 2018) off from work so I stopped in here for the first time during the day.
I bought a small roasted red pepper Focaccia, a savoury croissant (ham and cheese one), and the salted chocolate chip cookie. Service was great and the woman who helped me at the counter spoke to me about the business after I asked her some questions.
The Roasted Red Pepper Focaccia is perfect for a mid-afternoon snack or can even be eaten with lunch or dinner. Heck, I would eat it for breakfast too. There are no rules on when you can eat it. The flavour was SO on point as well. The Ham and Cheese croissant was equally tasty but probably is not the healthiest food because I could taste the oil and fatty goodness coming out as I ate it...haha. It had pepperoni inside too. The salted chocolate chip cookie ($1.50 each) was good (just fine) especially since I've eaten better tasting cookies at other places. I did heat up the cookie when I got home so that the chocolate could melt so that made it taste better. Everyone has different taste buds so this isn't a problem. No one comes here for cookies really no matter how good they taste because BREAD is the main attraction.
The bread here is legit even though I didn't technically buy traditional bread. The roasted red pepper focaccia and croissant that I bought were definitely my favourite items. I got home and heated both items in the microwave for a few seconds which brought out the taste even better. The bread that the focaccia and savoury croissant were made out of is super soft and I could tell that it was homemade. Sweet croissants are also available such as the chocolate or apricot one.
FOCACCIA - They have constant ones on the menu and seasonal ones that come in a large and small size. The permanent ones are Rosemary, Onion & Blue Cheese, and the Olive & Feta. Call or stop in to find out their seasonal focaccia.
You should definitely stop by and support this local business that is owned by a husband and wife couple. The husband still bakes and takes passion in his business. There are table and chairs for you to sit at but I can't comment on the in-store experience since I just ordered take out.
They sell drinks to take in a cup such as tea, hot chocolate, and coffee. Right next to the check-out counter, they sell packaged coffee, raw honey, and a few other times.
I'll be back for sure to try their breads.
